A wave of outrage has erupted across the rugby league community as several NRL legends have publicly slammed the management team of Wests Tigers teenage sensation Lachlan Galvin. The 18-year-old rising star has found himself at the center of a growing storm following reports that his representatives are pushing aggressively for a release from the club – a move that has drawn fierce criticism from former players and pundits alike.

Galvin, widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in Australian rugby league, has been a rare shining light in what has otherwise been a grim 2025 campaign for the Tigers. Despite the team’s struggles, the playmaker has shown maturity, skill, and leadership well beyond his years – which is precisely why news of a potential exit has rattled the fanbase and infuriated some of the sport’s most respected voices.

Rugby league greats including Paul Gallen, Greg Alexander, and Corey Parker have not held back in voicing their disapproval of Galvin’s management. Appearing on Fox League’s *NRL 360*, Gallen launched a scathing critique.

“This is outrageous. The kid’s only 18, he’s signed a contract, and the club has invested in him,” Gallen said. “His management should be focused on developing his career – not playing hardball three months into the season. It’s destabilizing, and it sets a dangerous precedent.”

Greg Alexander echoed similar concerns, questioning the motives behind the scenes.

“You have to wonder what these agents are thinking. Is this about the player’s future or their own interests? Lachlan is a phenomenal talent, but dragging him through this circus doesn’t help anyone – least of all him,” Alexander said.

At the heart of the issue is Galvin’s current contract, which reportedly runs through the end of 2026. However, insiders suggest his management is exploring options to secure a more lucrative deal elsewhere, with the Bulldogs and Raiders both rumored to be monitoring the situation closely.

Corey Parker, speaking on SEN Radio, didn’t mince words either.

“Kids should be focused on football, not contract politics. If the Tigers are building around him, and he’s getting first-grade minutes, what more do you want? It’s mismanagement, plain and simple.”

The Wests Tigers have remained tight-lipped on the matter but are believed to be frustrated by the distractions caused by Galvin’s camp. Sources close to the club say efforts are being made behind the scenes to reassure the youngster and reaffirm their long-term vision with him at the core.

Fans, meanwhile, have taken to social media in droves, with the overwhelming sentiment siding with the club and condemning Galvin’s management for creating instability in an already challenging season.

As the saga continues to unfold, one thing is clear – the spotlight is no longer just on Lachlan Galvin’s potential, but now also on the intentions and strategies of those managing his career. And in the eyes of the game’s legends, that spotlight is anything but flattering.
