Adrian Lam on Joe Ofahengaue: “He’s a player I’ve long respected and admired”
Joe Ofahengaue, who hails from Auckland, recently marked his 200th NRL appearance, having previously played for the Brisbane Broncos and Wests Tigers before joining Parramatta.
The forward, who has 12 NRL tries to his name, made his debut for Brisbane back in 2015 against the Cronulla Sharks.
Leigh Leopards head coach Adrian Lam said: “Joe is someone I’ve followed and respected for many years.
“He’s always been a natural leader, and with over 200 NRL games under his belt, he’ll bring a wealth of experience to our squad.
“Joe’s physical presence, coupled with his explosive power in both attack and defence, makes him an ideal addition to our team.
“He’s exactly what we need to strengthen our forward pack and provide leadership on the field.
“His arrival is perfectly timed and will give our squad a real boost.
“I’ve spoken with Joe, and both he and his family are really excited about this next chapter. He’s been keeping an eye on Leigh Leopards and understands the direction we’re heading as a club — and he wants to be part of that journey.
“Joe believes his best rugby is still ahead of him and hopes to win over our fans with his tough, no-nonsense playing style. He’s eager to run out in front of the Leigh supporters and give his all.”
