Patrick Kisnorbo, 44, was a fan favourite during his playing days at Elland Road, earning admiration for his wholehearted style on the pitch.
Though injuries limited him to just 58 appearances for Leeds United, he played a pivotal role in their 2009/10 League One promotion campaign. One of his standout moments came in January 2010 when he helped Leeds knock Manchester United out of the FA Cup.
A former defender, Kisnorbo also had spells with Leicester City, Ipswich Town, and Hearts before retiring in 2016.
Following his playing career, he moved into management, overseeing both the men’s and women’s sides at Melbourne City, as well as stints with Troyes and Melbourne Victory.
In December, Kisnorbo joined Yokohama F. Marinos as assistant to former England coach Steve Holland. However, with Holland recently dismissed, Kisnorbo has now stepped up as interim manager.
A club statement read: “Yokohama F. Marinos announce today that the club have decided to part ways with Steve Holland, who was appointed manager at the start of the 2025 season. To fill the gap, head coach Patrick Kisnorbo will act as interim manager for now.”
