Wests Tigers legend Bryce Gibbs has voiced concerns that no NRL players will want to team up with Lachlan Galvin following the teenager’s ongoing dispute with the club.

Galvin’s management recently sent a legal notice to the Tigers, claiming the youngster has faced bullying and unsafe working conditions after turning down a lucrative multi-year contract extension.

The legal move follows social media criticism from Galvin’s Tigers teammates, Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva, who appeared to take aim at his decision.

Galvin was demoted to reserve grade ahead of the Tigers’ clash with Parramatta, sparking speculation that he may have already played his final game for the club. Due to threats made since the saga became public, the Tigers arranged added security for the young playmaker at the match.

With legal proceedings now underway, it’s uncertain whether Galvin will play for the Wests Magpies on Monday. Despite confirming Galvin won’t remain at the club long-term, the Tigers have maintained they won’t grant an early release.

Gibbs believes the situation could severely damage Galvin’s career.

“That’s embarrassing from his management,” Gibbs posted on X. “No player in the league will want to play with him now. I bet there’ll be some press release just before the game – all just to throw the Tigers off. But that team is too strong to be shaken.”

Meanwhile, the Parramatta Eels are emerging as a potential suitor for Galvin, especially with five-eighth Dylan Brown set to depart. Eels coach Jason Ryles expressed interest, hinting the club is ready to make a move.

“Our five-eighth has moved on, so we’re definitely in the market,” Ryles said. “Lachie is a tremendous talent, and we’ll approach him when the time is right. He’s played here before as a junior, so there’s a connection. Ultimately, it’s about what’s best for Lachlan and his family, and we hope we’re in the mix.”
