Galvin’s Management Company Takes Legal Action Against Wests Tigers Over Bullying Allegations

Lachie Galvin’s management agency has issued legal proceedings against the Wests Tigers, claiming the young playmaker has been subjected to bullying following his refusal to re-sign with the club.

The legal action follows controversial social media activity by teammates Jarome Luai and Sunia Turuva, who made pointed posts after Galvin’s decision to reject a new deal and explore options elsewhere. Luai shared an image captioned “Team First”, while Turuva posted a photo of Galvin’s locker accompanied by a song referencing money.

As a result, Galvin has been dropped to the NSW Cup by coach Benji Marshall, with Adam Doueihi now set to partner Luai in the halves against Parramatta. Marshall has defended his decision and denied any bullying claims, stating, “We don’t stand for bullying… I don’t think (Turuva) should have done it… but I’m not going to slap him on the wrist.”

Isaac Moses, director of Galvin’s management group Cove Agency, issued the legal letter, though the Tigers declined to comment on the matter. It’s yet to be seen whether sanctions will be imposed on the club or individuals involved.

Meanwhile, Parramatta coach Jason Ryles has expressed strong interest in signing the 19-year-old, who played junior rugby in the area and supported the Eels as a child. “We’re in the market for a five-eighth and Lachie’s an exceptional talent,” Ryles said. “Hopefully we’ll be one of the clubs he considers.”

Amid growing tensions and uncertainty around Galvin’s future, a potential early release could be on the cards. One floated scenario involves a three-way deal sending Galvin to the Eels, Dylan Brown to the Knights, and Kai Pearce-Paul to the Tigers.
