Van Nistelrooy Sacked as Leicester City Boss, former man united Coach Set to Take Over

Leicester City have parted ways with head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy after a string of underwhelming performances that have jeopardized the club’s promotion hopes. The Dutchman, who took charge last summer, failed to meet expectations at the King Power Stadium despite a promising start to the season.

Club officials confirmed Van Nistelrooy’s dismissal in a brief statement on Monday, thanking him for his efforts but emphasizing the need for a “fresh direction” as the club pushes for a Premier League return.

Sources close to the club reveal that former Manchester United midfielder and current Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is in advanced talks to take over. Carrick has impressed during his time in the Championship, earning plaudits for his tactical maturity and ability to develop young talent.

An official announcement regarding Carrick’s appointment is expected within days. The move marks Leicester’s ambition to rebuild and re-energize their squad under a young, progressive coach with Premier League pedigree.

Leicester currently sit just outside the automatic promotion places, and the club hopes the managerial change will provide a late-season boost to secure a top-two finish.
