Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has launched a scathing critique of Jamie Vardy following the striker’s apology to Leicester City fans after their recent disappointing performance. Vardy, a club legend, addressed supporters after Leicester’s dip in form, but Jordan wasn’t impressed.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan claimed Vardy’s public apology was more about optics than substance. “It’s all well and good saying sorry, but where’s the impact on the pitch?” he questioned. “Vardy’s been an incredible servant for Leicester, but the brutal truth is—his race is run.”

Jordan argued that the emotional connection between Vardy and the fans shouldn’t shield him from scrutiny. “He’s had a fantastic career, no doubt. But sentiment can’t mask reality. If you’re not delivering anymore, it’s time to step aside.”

Leicester, currently battling for promotion in the Championship, have stumbled after leading the table for most of the season. Vardy, though still a respected figure, has seen his influence wane as age catches up with the 37-year-old.

Jordan’s comments have divided fans—some agree it’s time for Leicester to look to the future, while others feel Vardy deserves more respect for his legacy.

As Leicester enters the final stretch of the season, all eyes will be on whether Vardy can silence the critics—or if Jordan’s harsh verdict will prove prophetic.
