Norwich City have officially confirmed that five first-team players will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the current season.

Among those heading for the exit door are two goalkeepers and three outfield players, as the Canaries prepare for a crucial summer rebuild.

Departing Players:

Angus Gunn (Goalkeeper)

A key figure between the sticks in recent seasons, Gunn’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter. The 28-year-old shot-stopper, who rejoined Norwich from Southampton, became a fan favourite for his consistent performances but will now move on in search of a new challenge.

Onel Hernandez (Winger, Cuba)

The Cuban international has been a popular figure at Carrow Road since his arrival in 2018, known for his blistering pace and dynamic attacking play. Hernandez featured prominently during Norwich’s recent promotion campaigns but is set to leave after seven eventful years.

Jacob Sorensen (Midfielder, Denmark)

The versatile Dane, capable of playing in midfield and across the backline, has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. Despite flashes of his talent, Sorensen will now be seeking a fresh start elsewhere.

Archie Mair (Goalkeeper)

A young talent who spent time out on loan to gain experience, Mair departs without having established himself in the first team but with a reputation as a promising prospect for the future.

Jonathan Tomkinson (Defender, USA)

The American defender, another academy graduate, also leaves having spent periods away on loan. Tomkinson is expected to attract interest from clubs looking to develop young talent.

Club Statement

In a statement released earlier today, Norwich City expressed their gratitude to all five players for their contributions both on and off the pitch. The club wished them the very best for the next chapters of their careers.

“We would like to sincerely thank Angus, Onel, Jacob, Archie and Jonathan for their professionalism, commitment and service to Norwich City. They will always be welcome at Carrow Road.”

The Canaries, who narrowly missed out on promotion this season, are expected to be active in the summer transfer window as head coach David Wagner looks to refresh his squad and mount another promotion push next season.

More updates on Norwich City’s summer plans are expected in the coming weeks.
