Hearts players gather at EICC for end-of-season awards night

Following the dismissal of head coach Neil Critchley on Saturday, Hearts went ahead with their Player of the Year awards ceremony on Sunday evening at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Despite a frustrating 2024/25 season, several individuals were recognised for their contributions.

The Tynecastle squad attended the event alongside club executives and corporate partners. Left-back James Penrice, who joined from Livingston last summer, capped off a strong debut campaign by winning both the Fans’ Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year awards. Known for his consistent performances in an attacking full-back role, Penrice was one of the team’s bright spots.

Critchley, along with assistant Mike Garrity, was absent after both were relieved of their duties the day before. Hearts are now searching for their second new manager of the season, having previously parted ways with Steven Naismith last September after a poor start. Liam Fox, the first-team coach, has been named interim boss and will lead the side in Saturday’s William Hill Premiership match against Ross County.
