Rangers could offload Kieran Dowell and Ben Davies in the upcoming transfer window, with discussions already underway at Ibrox regarding their futures.

Davies joined Birmingham City on loan last summer, and Dowell followed in January. Both players have been instrumental in helping the club secure automatic promotion from League One, finishing the season on top with an impressive 111 points.

Dowell, formerly of Norwich City, has performed well during his time at St Andrew’s, making a potential permanent move—alongside Davies—a strong possibility.

According to Birmingham World (4 May), Birmingham have initiated talks to secure both players on full-time deals. Rangers reportedly appear open to selling, as neither Dowell nor Davies seem to be in their long-term plans.

The Glasgow club now has a chance to cash in on the pair ahead of a squad overhaul following an impending ownership change.

With Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises poised to take control, significant investment is expected at Ibrox to build a team capable of challenging Celtic, who have now secured four straight Scottish Premiership titles under Brendan Rodgers.

Rangers supporters will demand silverware in the upcoming campaign, and with Barry Ferguson set to depart the club at the season’s end, the incoming owners face major decisions—including appointing a new manager and reshaping the squad.

Given Dowell and Davies have failed to meet expectations during their spells at Ibrox, selling them could be a sensible move—allowing the club to generate funds for a more competitive and balanced roster aimed at reclaiming domestic dominance and achieving European success.
