Motherwell boss Michael Wimmer has suggested that talented young midfielder Lennon Miller could be on his way out of Fir Park. While Wimmer stopped short of revealing the player’s destination, speculation continues to grow around a potential move to Celtic.

Miller was influential in Motherwell’s 3-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Fir Park, registering an assist before being subbed off late in the match. His departure from the pitch was met with a standing ovation from the home support, hinting that it may have been his final outing in claret and amber.

Speaking to BBC Sportscene, Wimmer praised the teenager’s maturity:

> “For me, just one sentence about Lennon — we always talk about football, technique, and tactics, but we often overlook the human side. At just 18, with pressure from multiple clubs and an invitation to the national A team, to stay grounded and humble is the most important. He’s a brilliant guy. I don’t know what’s next for him, but I wish him the best and hope he has a fantastic career.”

Miller’s consistent performances this season have made him one of the Scottish Premiership’s standout young talents. His composure, work ethic, and tactical intelligence have marked him as a strong fit for a club like Celtic — who demonstrated their ambition in the youth market by signing Arne Engels last summer for a then club-record fee. Engels, who joined at 20, has adapted well, and Miller could further bolster Celtic’s long-term midfield vision.

With Callum McGregor now 31 and Reo Hatate regularly linked with a move away, Miller could form part of a youthful midfield core alongside Engels.

Despite being just 18, Miller has captained Motherwell on occasion this season, contributing 8 goals and 5 assists in 31 league appearances. All signs now point to the Scotland youth international taking the next step in his career — with Celtic increasingly looking like a likely destination.
