It was the final home match of a miserable season, but the presence of some key figures from the 49ers group offered a glimmer of optimism for Rangers supporters.
A dreadful campaign is drawing to a close, and fans will be relieved to see the back of it. However, the ongoing club takeover is nearing completion—something that’s starting to excite the Ibrox faithful.
The sparse attendance for the last home fixture in the Scottish Premiership reflected the deflated mood around the club. Still, there was one notable attendee whose presence pointed to significant developments behind the scenes.
Andrew Cavenagh once again took his seat in the directors’ box—no surprise given Record Sport previously revealed he’s the main driving force behind the takeover. But it was the appearance of Raminder Dhadwal, a more elusive figure, that caught the eye.
Dhadwal, a Harvard graduate and Director of 49ers Enterprises and Investments, plays a central role in the NFL franchise’s business operations and their involvement with Leeds United. His appearance signals that the long-awaited deal may be nearing its conclusion.
He was also part of the group that received a VIP tour of Ibrox last month, hosted by Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart.
