Saturday afternoon brought expected scenes to Glasgow’s Trongate, as thousands of ecstatic Celtic fans flooded the city centre to celebrate the club’s 55th league title. Green smoke, flares, flags, and chants filled the air in a familiar spectacle that, despite regular warnings from both the club and city authorities, has become an unofficial annual ritual.

As seen in recent years, fans climbed atop traffic lights and buildings. Anticipating the scale of the turnout, Glasgow City Council had preemptively removed bus shelters to limit potential damage. Still, the massive gathering left its mark.

Once the celebrations moved on and the crowds dispersed, the aftermath was apparent—empty cans, shattered glass, used smoke canisters, and abandoned banners scattered across the streets.

Exclusive photos taken shortly after the event captured a street blanketed in debris—a striking contrast to the vibrant festivities just hours earlier.

Yet amid the mess, one image stood out: a lone Celtic fan seen helping clean up, bin bag in hand, as police officers observed nearby.

Despite appeals from both Celtic and Police Scotland to avoid congregating in the area, fans still gathered in large numbers.

Photos taken around 7:30 p.m. showed the scene post-party, but by 9:30 p.m., 95% of the rubbish had been cleared, with council workers hosing down the streets. Both the city’s cleanup crews and the fans who stayed to help deserve credit for the impressive effort.
