Kieran Tierney’s season isn’t quite finished yet. The former Celtic defender, who is set to return to Parkhead this summer, has been called up by Steve Clarke for Scotland’s June internationals.

The left-back is part of the squad for upcoming friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein, with Scotland set to host the Icelanders at Hampden on June 6 before traveling for the second match three days later.

This marks Tierney’s first return to Glasgow since his 2019 departure, and he’ll link up once again with Brendan Rodgers—the manager who handed him his Celtic debut.

Anthony Ralston also makes Clarke’s squad following a solid season with the Hoops. However, Dundee’s Luke McCowan misses out despite a strong run of form, and Celtic skipper Callum McGregor remains unavailable after stepping away from international duty.

Tierney’s selection is sure to excite Celtic fans, who are eager to see the 27-year-old back in the famous green and white.

With Champions League qualification and a domestic title push on the horizon, a fit and firing Tierney could prove vital to Rodgers’ plans for the 2025/26 campaign.

What remains uncertain is who will back him up. Greg Taylor has yet to sign a new contract, and recent social media posts have fueled speculation that he may move on following the upcoming Scottish Cup final.
