Mathias Kvistgaarden has signaled his readiness to leave Brondby this summer, with Celtic emerging as a serious contender for the Danish striker’s signature.

The 23-year-old has been on Celtic’s radar for the past two seasons, and the Scottish champions are eager to make a move in the upcoming transfer window.

According to CeltsAreHere, a release clause in Kvistgaarden’s contract could make him available for around £9 million.

The forward’s standout performances in the Danish Superliga have attracted interest from across Europe, including Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. However, Kvistgaarden’s recent remarks suggest he’s prepared for a step up in his career—a message that will resonate with clubs seeking a proven goalscorer with potential for further growth.

Speaking to Danish outlet TV 2 SPORT, Kvistgaarden stated: “I think I’m ready. I’ve made my mark at Brondby and in the Superliga, so I’m ready to take the next step. Staying at Brondby next season is not my goal—I can say that without it being wrong.”

Celtic’s urgency to bolster their attacking options has grown, with Jota sidelined by a long-term injury and Adam Idah yet to prove he can lead the line.

Kvistgaarden, who tallied 22 goals and six assists in 36 appearances this season, fits the mold of a Brendan Rodgers striker—energetic, aggressive, and clinical.

With Champions League qualifiers approaching, Rodgers is keen to secure reinforcements early. Kvistgaarden’s openness to a move may provide the perfect opportunity for Celtic to act decisively.
