Gabriel Sara has called his season at Galatasaray the “happiest” of his professional career after playing a key role in the club’s Super Lig title win.

The ex-Norwich City midfielder helped Gala clinch the championship with a commanding 3-0 win over Kayserispor, taking their tally to 89 points after 34 matches—enough to put them out of reach of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

Sara started in the title-deciding fixture and assisted Victor Osimhen for the opening goal. Baris Alper Yilmaz added a second moments later, and veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera sealed the win from the penalty spot in the closing stages, sparking wild celebrations at RAMS Park.

The triumph marks Galatasaray’s 25th league title and came just days after they lifted the Turkish Cup with a win over Trabzonspor.

Reflecting on the season, Sara said: “I’m so happy. Honestly, it’s incredible. This was the best season of my life so far. I just want to enjoy the moment. The atmosphere here is amazing. It was a long season, and it’s been the happiest of my career. We’re trying to enjoy and celebrate it as much as we can.”

Sara’s success has justified his £20 million switch from Norwich to Galatasaray last summer—a move that included bonuses and add-ons. Despite interest from clubs in Serie A, the Premier League, and Bundesliga, the Brazilian opted for Turkey.

After a slow start in Istanbul, Sara found his rhythm, registering two goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His performances have since attracted interest from major clubs, with Manchester City and Aston Villa reportedly monitoring him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Should he be sold, Norwich would benefit financially due to a sell-on clause included in his transfer. Turkish media report that Galatasaray will demand €40 million to consider parting ways with the midfielder.

Sara originally joined Norwich from São Paulo in 2022, becoming the club’s first direct signing from South America and going on to make 96 appearances for the Canaries.
