Eric Ten Hag Named New Leicester City Head Coach

Leicester City have made a bold managerial move by appointing former Manchester United boss Eric ten Hag as their new head coach, the club confirmed on Thursday.

The Dutchman, who parted ways with Manchester United at the end of the 2024–25 season, joins the Foxes on a three-year deal. Ten Hag takes the reins following Leicester’s promotion back to the Premier League under interim management.

Club chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha expressed confidence in Ten Hag’s vision: “Eric brings top-level experience, a commitment to attacking football, and a proven track record of developing talent. He is the ideal figure to lead our next chapter in the Premier League.”

Ten Hag, 55, made his name at Ajax, guiding them to multiple Eredivisie titles and a memorable Champions League semi-final run in 2019. His tenure at Manchester United saw mixed results, including a Carabao Cup win but inconsistency in league performances.

Speaking at his unveiling, Ten Hag said: “Leicester is a club with ambition and a passionate fanbase. I’m excited to be part of this project and eager to build a team that can compete with the best.”

The appointment signals Leicester’s intent to not just survive but thrive in the Premier League. With Ten Hag’s tactical nous and a squad eager to prove itself, the Foxes could become one of the upcoming season’s surprise packages.

Ten Hag’s first task will be shaping the squad during the summer window and preparing for a tough opening fixture against Tott

enham Hotspur.
