Departing Wests Tigers talent Lachlan Galvin could decide on his next NRL destination as early as this weekend, following reported meetings with both the Bulldogs and Parramatta.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the 19-year-old held talks with both clubs on Wednesday, with each tabling offers in the region of $750,000 per season. This represents a significant jump from Galvin’s current contract — believed to be worth around $350,000 annually — but falls well short of the five-year, $6 million extension reportedly offered by the Tigers.

By moving on, Galvin could be walking away from more than $2 million in potential earnings.

It was revealed this week that the Tigers are willing to release Galvin immediately, provided a rival club agrees to pay a reported $165,000 transfer fee. The development all but confirms Galvin has played his last game for the club, who have relented on their initial stance in what has become a tense and prolonged departure.

Galvin was controversially dropped to NSW Cup for a week amid reports he had concerns over Benji Marshall’s coaching, which contributed to his reluctance to commit long-term. While the Tigers initially insisted he would stay until his contract expired in 2026, they have now moved to expedite his exit due to growing unrest in the squad and ongoing mediation over bullying allegations.

The Sydney Roosters were previously in the mix to secure Galvin’s signature, but the race now appears to be between just the Bulldogs and Parramatta.
