The new facility is set to revolutionize the Parramatta Eels.
The club has officially unveiled the world’s largest rugby league Centre of Excellence, a state-of-the-art $70 million complex located in Kellyville. The site also includes a brand-new community centre and five full-sized rugby league fields. Notably, it is the first elite sports facility in Australia to offer identical amenities for both male and female athletes, promoting complete gender equality.
An international-standard match venue is also under construction next to the community centre. It will include a 1,500-seat grandstand and multiple function rooms, supporting community events and serving as a venue for the club’s junior and reserve-grade fixtures.
The community centre is designed to deepen engagement with the broader Western Sydney region.
“This is a landmark development for our club and community,” said Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos. “The Centre of Excellence will deliver elite-level resources to our men’s, women’s, and development squads, while also helping grow rugby league participation across one of Australia’s fastest-expanding areas.
“Most importantly, it provides a true home for the entire Eels family—from past players to members, fans, partners, and the broader Western Sydney community. We’re incredibly grateful to the NSW and Australian governments, the Hills Shire Council, and Parramatta Leagues Club for their crucial support and investment.”
NSW Minister for Sport Steve Kamper called the development a “game changer.”
“The opening of the Eels’ Centre of Excellence and the Kellyville Memorial Park Community Centre represents a major advancement for the local area,” Kamper said. “Young players from grassroots clubs like the Wentworthville Magpies and Rouse Hill Rhinos can now see a clearer path to pulling on the Eels jersey.
“With this facility, the Eels now have one of the premier rugby league hubs in the state, significantly enhancing development pathways for both male and female athletes across Western Sydney.”
