Josh Addo-Carr Commits to Parramatta Eels Through 2027 After Stellar Start

In a major boost for the Parramatta Eels, superstar winger Josh Addo-Carr has officially extended his contract with the club until the end of the 2027 NRL season.

Addo-Carr, who joined the Eels at the beginning of the 2025 season following a stint with the Canterbury Bulldogs, has quickly become one of the club’s standout performers. His new deal comes after it was previously revealed that his contract included a club option for 2026, which the Eels have now activated — with both parties also agreeing to an additional year through 2027.

Since arriving in Western Sydney, the 28-year-old has been in scintillating form, scoring seven tries, setting up two more, and averaging a remarkable 146 running metres per game in just nine appearances. His electric pace, on-field leadership, and game-breaking ability have been instrumental in Parramatta’s strong performances this season.

Parramatta officials were reportedly impressed not only by Addo-Carr’s on-field output but also his professionalism and influence on the squad culture. The club moved swiftly to secure his long-term future, recognising the value he brings as one of the NRL’s most dynamic outside backs.

The extension marks a significant show of faith from both Addo-Carr and the Eels. Known for his flamboyant style and infectious energy, the former New South Wales Blues and Australian Kangaroos representative appears to have found a new home in blue and gold — and he’s eager to make it his last.

Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald last month, Addo-Carr hinted strongly at his desire to remain with the club for the remainder of his playing days.

“Rylesy was the only person who backed me, so I told him I wouldn’t let him down,” he said, referring to Eels coach Jason Ryles. “I’d love to finish my career at Parramatta, to be honest with you. I love Parra.”

His passion for the club and the NRL competition remains undiminished, as he continues to strive for higher honours and a return to the representative arena.

“To play with the best players in the world, I’d love to get that opportunity again,” he added. “And I’d love to put that Kangaroos jersey on again, 100 per cent. I definitely do miss representative football.”

With the Eels now confirming the extension, fans can look forward to seeing “The Foxx” lighting up CommBank Stadium for the next three seasons. His commitment also signals the club’s intent to build a formidable squad capable of pushing for premiership contention.

Addo-Carr’s blend of speed, experience, and charisma makes him a cornerstone of the Eels’ current and future plans — and with his future secured, he can now focus on delivering silverware to Parramatta and regaining his place among the NRL’s elite representatives.

The Eels will be hoping that this long-term deal pays dividends both on and off the field, as they bank on Addo-Carr’s talent and leadership to guide them through a new era of success.
