Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Dor Turgeman is reportedly interested in a move to Rangers during the summer transfer window.
The Ibrox club have already shown intent by submitting a £4 million bid for the 21-year-old, but that initial offer was rejected by the Israeli side, who believe Turgeman is worth significantly more.
According to Israel Hayom (8 June), Turgeman is open to making the switch to Glasgow in the coming weeks. However, Maccabi Tel Aviv have made it clear that Rangers must raise their bid if they’re serious about securing his signature.
Turgeman is seen as a key target, with manager Russell Martin personally recommending him to the club’s hierarchy. In fact, Rangers had been monitoring the striker even before Martin’s appointment, indicating broader support for the move within the club.
If Turgeman arrives at Ibrox, it could spell the end for Danilo. The Brazilian forward, signed for £6 million in 2023, has struggled with injuries and scored just 12 goals in 48 appearances. His high wages also pose a financial challenge, especially with the new American ownership focused on sustainable spending.
Turgeman, who scored 20 goals in 44 games during the 2024–25 season, offers energy, pressing ability, and finishing that fits well with Martin’s style of play. His versatility makes him an ideal partner or alternative to Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane.
Danilo’s likely demotion to a backup role—combined with his injury record and wage demands—makes a transfer seem inevitable. Interest from Dutch and Portuguese clubs could help Rangers recover some of their initial investment, allowing them to reinvest in other key areas as they reshape the squad for a serious title push.
