Rangers Set for Six More New Signings After Max Aarons Transfer Announcement

Rangers are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, with reports indicating the club is preparing to make six more signings following the imminent arrival of Max Aarons from Bournemouth. The England youth international is set to join the Ibrox outfit on a season-long loan, marking the first major signing under new manager Russell Martin.

The Aarons announcement signals the beginning of a wider recruitment strategy, as the 49ers Enterprises ownership looks to back Martin with a revamped squad capable of challenging Celtic for the Premiership title and making a meaningful impact in European competition.

Max Aarons Deal Kickstarts Busy Window

The acquisition of Aarons, who previously worked with Martin at both MK Dons and Swansea, is seen as a major coup. His pace, composure on the ball, and attacking drive are expected to perfectly fit Martin’s system. The right-back position has been a point of concern for Rangers, especially with ongoing uncertainty surrounding club captain James Tavernier’s future.

With Aarons now in the fold, attention turns to several other positions Martin wants to strengthen. Sources close to the club suggest that at least two centre-backs, a left-back, two wingers, and a striker are all on the shopping list.

Defensive Reinforcements a Priority

One of Rangers’ key weaknesses last season was a lack of consistency at the back. Injuries and form issues plagued the defence, and Martin is keen to bring in players who can both play out from the back and remain solid under pressure.

Veteran defender Conor Coady, currently at Leicester City, is believed to be a top target, while a number of continental options are also being explored. A left-back is also a high priority, especially with Ridvan Yilmaz linked with a move away from Glasgow.

Attack Overhaul on the Horizon

The Gers are also looking to overhaul their frontline, with Lawrence Shankland once again linked with a move to Ibrox. The Hearts striker, who netted over 25 goals last season, is reportedly open to the switch if a fee can be agreed.

Meanwhile, interest continues in Kwame Poku and Oscar Cortes, two dynamic wingers who could add pace and creativity to Rangers’ attack. With Abdallah Sima returning to Brighton and Ryan Kent unlikely to return, the flanks remain a key area of focus for Martin.

Champions League Qualification Looms

Time is of the essence. Rangers face Panathinaikos in a crucial Champions League qualifier in July, and Martin is eager to have the bulk of his signings through the door by then. European progress is vital for financial and reputational reasons, and the board are said to be fully supportive of the manager’s plans.

A New Era Underway

With Max Aarons leading the way, and six more signings in the pipeline, Rangers are laying the foundations for a new era under Russell Martin. While success isn’t guaranteed, the ambition being shown by the club is unmistakable—and fans will hope it translates into silverware come May.
