Feyenoord are reportedly among several clubs monitoring Rangers striker Hamza Igamane, according to Ibrox News.
The Moroccan international has attracted attention following a strong debut campaign at Ibrox and could potentially leave the club this summer. However, despite ongoing transfer speculation, Russell Martin still included him as a substitute in the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
Feyenoord unwilling to break transfer record for Igamane
While the Dutch giants admire the 22-year-old forward, Ibrox News sources indicate they will not surpass their current transfer record to sign him. Previous reports suggested Feyenoord might be ready to spend big, but the club’s record fee remains around £8.6million for Sem Steijn — far below Rangers’ £15million valuation of Igamane. As such, a move to Rotterdam currently appears unlikely.
Rangers right to stand firm on £15m asking price
Holding out for £15million is seen as a wise move by Rangers, given Igamane’s talent and adaptability. The forward contributed 16 goals and three assists in 46 appearances last season and can operate both centrally and on the wing.
Interest from Premier League clubs such as Everton, Leicester City and West Ham, as well as French sides Lille and Marseille, highlights his growing reputation and strengthens Rangers’ position in negotiations.
If no suitor matches the valuation, retaining Igamane would still benefit the club’s Scottish Premiership and European ambitions, with the 22-year-old’s continued development likely to further increase his market value in the future.
