According to the Daily Record, departing Rangers director of football operations Creag Robertson has received an opportunity to work at Al-Qadsiah with James Bisgrove.
Bisgrove, who served as the Light Blues’ CEO prior to departing for the Saudi club, reportedly wants to collaborate with Robertson once more, according to the article [19 November].
With John Gilligan serving as temporary chairman and the CEO role still unfilled, Robertson’s impending departure has caused “alarm bells to ring” at Ibrox.
The damaging off-pitch instability of Rangers Rangers stated that Nils Koppen, who had been the head of football recruitment since joining at the beginning of 2024, has taken over as technical director [BBC, 19 November].
The fact that Koppen’s hiring still creates a huge void in the club’s hierarchy only serves to highlight its incapacity to find outside candidates. Although Gilligan has previously reassured people that the Light Blues are still led by important players, the current state of affairs simply serves to highlight their disarray.
The Bears are now in third place in the Scottish Premiership, nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic, and Philippe Clement has had difficulty getting the most out of the club this season.
Given the poor performances and results, the Belgian definitely ought to have been removed a few weeks ago, but the team is reluctant to let him go.
Fixing the shortcomings in the boardroom should undoubtedly be the first stage in Rangers’ long-term plan to return to the top.
