With Sir Alex Ferguson’s support, Derek McInnes has been suggested as a possible replacement for Philippe Clement, who Dan Bardell believes will be fired by Rangers this season.
Due to the Gers’ poor play this season, which has put them nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, the Belgian has been under fire.
A number of new managers have been suggested for the position at Ibrox, with the Kilmarnock manager being mentioned in the same way as he was in 2017 [Scottish Sun].
At the time, Ferguson agreed to provide him with a reference [The Times], which Bardell, a writer for Sky Sports and talkSPORT, thinks will help him get a position with the Light Blues.
“I think Clement is going to be under pressure until he goes,” Bardell stated in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News.
“He can’t handle the constant clamour about his future; at this point, it seems inevitable that he will be fired this season.”He will be replaced, and McInnes will most likely be among the leading candidates. He will benefit from Sir Alex Ferguson’s support in terms of his suitability for the position. “I wouldn’t consider Clement a bad manager, but it’s not an easy job, and he looks and feels tired.”
Sir Alex Ferguson will support Rangers’ Derek McInnes. Clement is expected to be the most recent manager to leave the Gers, and aside from Steven Gerrard, no manager has had any real success at Ibrox in recent years.
If the former Monaco manager does leave, it could be a good idea to hire a coach with Scottish Premiership experience, and McInnes is a great choice.
Ferguson, a legend of Manchester United, has previously supported the 53-year-old, and now that he is near Ibrox, he may be given the push to leave Killie and take over the Light Blues.
