The suspension follows a Grade C head contact charge stemming from an incident in Wigan’s emphatic 44-2 victory over Wakefield Trinity at the Brick Community Stadium, during which Havard was sin-binned for a high tackle on winger Lachlan Walmsley . He received five penalty points, raising his season total to 6.5—just enough to trigger an automatic one-match ban under the panel’s totting-up system .
Havard’s absence hands Matt Peet’s side a significant selection headache as they prepare for the trip to Perpignan on Saturday evening .
Meanwhile, the Match Review Panel took action across the competition, charging a total of nine Super League players with various offences during Round 23. Among them, Wakefield Trinity forward Josh Griffin received three penalty points for Grade B late contact on the passer—his first of the season—and was fined accordingly . However, it appears that Havard was the only player to exceed the suspension threshold.
