After naming Patrick Stewart as Rangers’ new CEO on Monday, David Edgar feels that the team needs a complete makeover.

The host of the Heart and Hand podcast has described it as a “big” job since there is a lot of work to be done behind the scenes at Ibrox.

The squad already has a double-digit lead against Celtic, and they seem to be having trouble even on the pitch.

Edgar wrote via X: “Good luck to him. He has a difficult task ahead of him, but he also has a fantastic chance to finally steer us in the correct direction. Instead of making little adjustments, we require a complete overhaul.

Patrick Stewart must make several important choices for the Rangers.
This is the first action the club has taken to make sure that there is some progress being made to make amends behind the scenes.

Perhaps as a direct result of the team’s on-field struggles, several backroom positions went unfilled.

Stewart has several tasks ahead of him, chief among them being the choice about Philippe Clement’s future.

He will be aware of the Belgian’s lacklustre performances this season and the fact that he was given a long-term contract in the summer.

Anyone associated with the team would agree that it is totally unacceptable to be 11 points behind Celtic at this time in the season.

It will take time to determine whether Stewart is the best candidate for the position, but he will require the board’s backing.
