Rangers’ Cyriel Dessers is a divisive personality, and following Peter Martin’s transfer announcement, the Nigerian may soon leave the Ibrox supporters.

The Belgian recently made the decision to switch things up in the number nine position, which has worked out great for the 29-year-old, who has been a regular under Philippe Clement.

In the last three games in all competitions, Hamza Igamane has started for the Light Blues, tallying three goals and dishing out one assist.

The Bears’ goal-scoring problems appear to have been resolved by Clement, and Dessers is not part of the answer.

The Brazilian is a superior alternative than the Nigerian striker, as demonstrated by Danilo’s link-up play with some of his colleagues in the final third since he has also been back to duty in recent weeks.

With the January window approaching, it is unclear what the 29-year-old’s future holds, and the former Cremonese star might not be included in the Belgian manager’s plans at Ibrox.

Clement Phillipe Cyriel Dessers’ search for a Rangers striker may be his last.
Despite having Dessers, Igamane, and Danilo at his disposal, journalist Martin revealed that Clement wants another striker in January.

Regarding Rangers, he stated on the PLZ Football Podcast [5 December]: “I think we’ve got to cut Philippe Clement some slack.”

However, he has been wittering on at times. He has never had three strikers available for the entire season. Additionally, he desires a striker in the window.

With just three goals scored away from home in the Scottish Premiership this season, the Belgian boss has had difficulty unleashing the Light Blues’ offensive potential.

Even if Igamane has performed well in recent games, the 22-year-old has a long way to go before being trusted as the primary striker.

The Glaswegian club might have too many players competing for the number nine spot if they were to purchase another one.

If Dessers’ circumstances don’t improve, it wouldn’t be shocking to see him searching for a way out. If the Gers receive reinforcements in January, they may be able to afford to let the Nigerian leave.
