Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that key midfielder Wilfred Ndidi will miss the remainder of the season due to injury. The Nigerian international sustained a serious setback during Leicester’s recent match, and medical examinations have revealed the extent of the damage.

Speaking in a press conference, Van Nistelrooy expressed his disappointment, acknowledging Ndidi’s vital role in the team’s midfield. “It’s a big blow for us,” he said. “Wilfred has been instrumental in our campaign, and losing him at this crucial stage is very unfortunate.”

Ndidi, known for his exceptional defensive abilities and work rate, has been a cornerstone of Leicester’s midfield since joining the club in 2017. His absence will be a significant challenge for the Foxes as they navigate the remainder of the season, striving to meet their objectives in both domestic and European competitions.

Van Nistelrooy also revealed that the club is exploring options to manage the situation, including adjustments to the current lineup and potential reliance on younger players. “We have to adapt quickly,” he added. “The team will rally together, and we’ll ensure we stay competitive.”

The injury comes at a challenging time for Leicester, as they aim to secure a strong finish in the league. Ndidi’s leadership and presence will undoubtedly be missed on the pitch, but the Foxes will hope to overcome the setback with collective effort.

Leicester fans and teammates have since flooded social media with messages of support for Ndidi, wishing him a speedy recovery. The midfielder will now focus on rehabilitation in hopes of returning stronger next season.
