After Storm Darragh derailed Liverpool’s title charge last week, Arne Slot’s team would have hoped for an easier start to a packed festive schedule.

While their 1-0 victory over Girona earlier this week was straightforward, their 2-2 draw with Fulham was anything but, delivering plenty of drama.

Fulham struck first in the 11th minute through Andreas Pereira, and Liverpool’s troubles deepened shortly after when Andy Robertson received a straight red card for a last-man foul on Harry Wilson.

Cody Gakpo equalized for Liverpool in the second half, but Fulham regained the lead through Rodrigo Muniz. Diogo Jota, making his return, salvaged another equalizer, but the result saw Liverpool drop two crucial points in the title race.
