Paul Gascoigne has stated that he will be rooting for Rangers to win the Europa League match against Tottenham Hotspur later this year.
The former England international has made it obvious where his allegiances lie as the two teams get ready for a match, even though he played for both during his illustrious career.
Rangers will try to win a vital match in front of their fervent home fans when Tottenham, under the leadership of former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, returns to Scotland for the first leg at Ibrox. The game will be the first of Rangers’ two big matches; they will also play Manchester United at Old Trafford in the early months of 2025.
But because of an incident in which the club tried to charge Gascoigne £800 for a pair of tickets, his passion for Spurs has drastically cooled. After expressing his surprise and disappointment, he finally chose to support Rangers.
“I’m welcomed in every way at Rangers,” Gascoigne remarked in an interview with Sportscasting.com. In contrast, when I requested a couple of tickets at Tottenham, they informed me that they would cost £400 apiece. With everything I had done for that group, I thought, “Wow.” Going to the Rangers was the perfect decision; the supporters were amazing and adore me there. I will be an avid Rangers supporter when they play Spurs.
