Rangers head south across the border to face Manchester United at Old Trafford, with both sides navigating transitional phases in their respective seasons.

Philippe Clement is not known for adopting a cautious approach in Europe, and he is expected to embrace this challenge. However, injuries and suspensions have hit the Rangers squad hard—a fact that doesn’t faze midfielder Connor Barron.

Connor Barron Unfazed Ahead of Old Trafford Clash

Despite having seen limited action recently due to the strong midfield partnership of Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande, Barron remains confident. With Diomande suspended after excelling as a No.10 in Europa League matches, Barron is likely to feature prominently.

When asked about any potential nerves ahead of facing Manchester United, Barron dismissed the notion:

“There shouldn’t be fear going into any game. As a professional footballer, you’ve got a job to do,” Barron said.

“You go out there, play your best, and represent the jersey. It’s one of those games you dream about as a kid, but at the end of the day, it’s just another match. We’re looking forward to it.”

Should Rangers Be Concerned About Facing Man Utd?

Manchester United have won their last three Europa League matches against PAOK, Bodo/Glimt, and Viktoria Plzen—teams that are far from European heavyweights. Sitting just one place above Rangers in the group, there’s more than just Anglo-Scottish pride on the line, as both clubs aim for a spot in the top eight.

Domestically, United are struggling, sitting 13th in the Premier League with a negative goal difference of -5. They are closer to the relegation zone than the top four, making them vulnerable.

Barron is confident that Rangers, under Clement’s attacking philosophy, will take the game to United as they have done in all away matches this season. At the center of it all, Barron is eager to seize his chance and prove his worth.
