After moving to Turkey in the summer of 2023, the former midfielder for Liverpool and Arsenal has had difficulty establishing himself at Besiktas.

Before the January transfer window closes, Leeds United has been connected to a spectacular deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a former midfielder for Arsenal and Liverpool.

The Sun claims that the Whites, who are getting ready to play Burnley in a top-table match on Monday night, are considering bringing the midfield player back to England. Following a stellar career on Merseyside that included Premier League, Champions League, and Club World Cup victories, Oxlade-Chamberlain left Anfield in the summer of 2023.

He was utilised frequently in his debut season in Turkey after being signed by Besiktas following his transfer from Liverpool. However, the 31-year-old’s options have diminished, and it is thought that Oxlade-Chamberlain is eager to return to the Premier League through a trade.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City are rumoured to be interested in bringing the midfield player home, although their Premier League standings are currently in jeopardy. As they strive to return to the first flight, the Whites may have an advantage.

Despite giving Oxlade-Chamberlain a surprise start over the weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be amenable to the 31-year-old being loaned out with an eye towards a permanent contract at the end of the current campaign. With his former Liverpool colleague Rhian Brewster on the books at Bramall Lane, Oxlade-Chamberlain has also been linked to Sheffield United, Leeds’ promotion opponents.

It’s unclear, though, if the Blades would renew their pursuit of the midfield player this winter. If Daniel Farke’s team wins at Turf Moor tonight, they can move four points ahead of Chris Wilder’s team.
