Calcio Genoa claims that Genoa wants to sign Rangers player Ianis Hagi before the winter transfer window closes.

According to the news source, the Romanian playmaker will be a free agent in the summer and the Gers have no plans to extend his contract (January 27).

Dan Sucu, the president of the Italian club, wants to purchase the 26-year-old before February 3rd, even if he plans to join the Serie A team at the end of the current campaign.

It is doubtful that Ianis Hagi will leave Rangers before the deadline.

The Light Blues are unlikely to approve Hagi’s exit during the winter transfer window, considering his significance to the team.

A dramatic change in fortunes at Ibrox in recent months has made the Romanian international a vital member of Philippe Clement’s team.

The 26-year-old was not in the Belgian manager’s plans at the beginning of the season and was forced to train with the youth players.

The midfield player solidified his spot in the starting lineup by making an impression upon his return to the senior squad.

Rangers, who want to finish the season on a high note by winning at least the Scottish Cup, don’t seem to have the money to sell Hagi.

With the Romanian star on their club, the Glaswegian team may have the best chance of winning a trophy, thus it wouldn’t make sense to let him go during the winter transfer window.

The Gers run the possibility of losing the midfield player for nothing in the upcoming months, but they should only think about leaving if Genoa makes an irresistible offer.

In any case, this appears to be a really peculiar choice.
