The food company run by Norwich City Football Club, which is identified with Delia Smith, will no longer bear her name.

The club has learnt that the 83-year-old recently decided to leave the day-to-day management of the food staff.

Additionally, starting on 30 March, the Carrow Road restaurant, which is now known as Delia’s Restaurant and Bar, will be renamed The Rosary.

The club’s home on Rosary Road, The Nest, until 1935, is referenced in the rebrand.

The restaurant will continue to operate on matchdays but will no longer be open on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The news was announced via email to the club’s employees on Friday of last week.

It was disclosed in August that Delia and her husband, Michael Wynn Jones, had reached an agreement with Mark Attanasio’s Norfolk Holdings firm to acquire controlling ownership of the club.

The American businessman, who previously held a shared majority stake in the club, will now own 85 percent of it, while Delia and Michael’s ownership will drop to 10 percent as of March 1, 2025.

The independent shareholders, of which the Canaries Trust is the largest group of supporters, will own the remaining five percent of the shares.

In 1997, Delia, Michael Wynn Jones, and Michael Foulger acquired a majority stake in the Yellows.

Delia and the supporters have watched City secure six promotions to the Championship and Premier League during her 28 years as the club’s manager.
