According to Play Spor, Besiktas has a sell-on clause in any deal they make with Rangers for Ridvan Yilmaz.
The Super Lig team has a share clause in the sale of their former player, whom they are presently attempting to rehire, according to a report from the Turkish media via X on January 31.
According to Sabah on January 31, the Gers are reportedly seeking £4.1 million for the left-back. The Turkish side is still making an effort to reduce the cost, though.
Despite Philippe Clement’s claims that his player is injured, there has been constant conjecture on the player’s future when he was seen traveling to Turkey.
Yilmaz has had a difficult time making a name for himself with the Light Blues, so it’s not shocking that an exit could be imminent given Jefte seizing the starting left-back spot at Ibrox as well.
However, the fact that his old team has a sell-on clause is an odd circumstance, which could help to explain why the Gers are unwilling to lower the asking price they have set for the player.
Rangers has been guilty of improper business practices for far too long, which has prevented the team from having enough cash on hand to spend during transfer windows.
Therefore, Clement’s side will want to make sure they get enough out of the transaction if they have to pay Besiktas a sell-on fee.
But this is a rare transfer move because you don’t see clubs paying out their own sell-on clause very often.
