The idea that more acquisitions could be the answer seems a bit unrealistic given the circumstances surrounding Rangers’ lacklustre season debut.

Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement’s work has recently been under more scrutiny, which was made worse by Wednesday’s devastating 2-1 loss to Premiership pacesetter Aberdeen.

Robin Propper and Mohamed Diomande were benched, and only three of this summer’s acquisitions saw action. After being acquired for essentially the same amount as Celtic spent for Kyogo Furuhashi, Cyriel Dessers had a terrible night on the attack.

Even while Koppen deserves praise for bringing in Jefte and Hamza Igamane, two unknown young players from underutilised markets, it’s safe to say Rangers’ head of recruiting hasn’t truly won over most people yet.

Therefore, a disillusioned Gers fan base may be forgiven for controlling their exuberance as Ibrahim Adel appears to keep the door open ahead of a possible move to Scotland in 2025.

Rangers can still sign Ibrahim Adel before the January transfer window opens.

The Egypt international still plays for the aptly titled Pyramids FC in his own country.

According to one Egyptian source, Rangers did have discussions with Adel at the end of the summer transfer season. However, before the September deadline, possible £4.5 million deals to Ibrox and La Liga team Getafe fell through.

According to an unidentified Pyramids FC “official,” Rangers started talks to sign the player, Laila Kora is informed. “However, they ceased because they were unable to come to a consensus with the club on the financial issues.”

Speaking of sources, one is now outlining Ibrahim Adel’s long-term goals for 2025 on his behalf.

According to Gomhuria Online, Adel is waiting to relocate to Europe. According to reports, he is prepared to decline a move to Al-Ahly, possibly in the hopes that Rangers or Getafe will make another approach soon.

Of course, only time will tell if they do.

Rangers already have Nedim Bajrami, a talented left-winger.

Adel’s quality is undeniable. So far in 2024–2025, he has made three appearances and scored two goals.

Mahmoud Fathallah, the director of football for Pyramids FC, recently told King Fut, “Ibrahim Adel is a huge talent for us and for Egyptian football.”

It’s debatable, though, if Rangers actually require his skills. On the day of the deadline, Clement’s team added Nedim Bajrami, a right-sided left winger.

Furthermore, the left-wing position would seem like a strange one to reinforce given that Tom Lawrence can also play wide on the flank, not to mention the talented but currently injured Oscar Cortes. especially if Pyramids FC is still willing to pay £4.5 million.

After all, Bajrami was one of the few bright spots in Rangers’ defeat at Pittodrie.

His amazing solo performance was a flash of true unique genius that brought inspiration to an otherwise uninspired show.

After Rangers crushed Romanian powerhouse FCSB 4-0 in the Europa League, the Albanian praised his developing relationship with Lawrence and his ferocious left-back Jefte, saying, “I find myself really enjoying my football with them, even if I play on the left.”

“I believe Jefte and Hamza have the potential to be elite players in the upcoming years. They have a bright future if they perform well here, in my opinion. And because football is like that, players have to put in a lot of work.
