The attacker for Sunderland has been discussing his aspirations for the future.
After a string of “hard” injury setbacks, Sunderland U21 star Timur Tutierov has stated his goals to push his way into the Wearside first squad picture soon.
When healthy, the Ukrainian has been a consistent member of Graeme Murty’s youth team for a while. Senior head coach Regis Le Bris acknowledged this when he was selected on the bench for the Championship trip to Portsmouth earlier this season.
However, Tutierov’s wait for a first team debut continues, and the 19-year-old is keen to make his debut as soon as possible. “I don’t want to stay in one place; I want to progress, and I know I can,” he stated in an interview with the club’s internal media. I have faith in my ability to develop and get better. I hope to be given an opportunity on the first team and want to keep going.
“It was challenging at first because I was from a foreign nation, which meant that the language and football style were different. I’ve missed time due to injury, which is difficult since you want to be playing and supporting the team. I haven’t been able to play to my full potential because of my ailments. I’m hoping to play a lot of games and avoid injuries after a few setbacks.
Tutierov also praised Sunderland’s academy staff and teammates for assisting him in adjusting to life on Wearside. It’s been excellent; they make me aware of a lot of stuff I’m not even considering,” he continued. I can advance in my career and easily adjust to English football thanks to all the little aspects.
“We all support one another, which keeps the team’s morale and drive high. Our shared objective is to succeed in football. We’ve already demonstrated our growth this season, both in and out of possession, so I believe our seasonal objectives will continue to improve.
The teenager, who joined Sunderland from FC Kolos Kovalivka last year, has been playing well so far this season, making five appearances in the Premier League 2 and contributing two goals and one assist.
