Palestine manager Ehab Abu Jazar has praised Celtic fans and expressed his desire for a high-profile friendly against the Scottish champions.

Abu Jazar acknowledged the deep bond between his homeland and the Green Brigade, who frequently display Palestinian flags and show solidarity with their cause. He stated that every Palestinian supports Celtic and admitted he would be delighted if his team had the opportunity to face the Hoops in a match.

He said: “Without a doubt, it would be an incredible moment if the Palestine national team could play against Celtic. We would always be ready for such a game. It would be something special for the people of Palestine.”

Due to their fanbase, Celtic also have a strong following in Palestine. Abu Jazar appreciates how many Celtic supporters have helped raise awareness and shown their backing.

However, the national coach lightheartedly suggested that Celtic’s dominance in Scotland might face a challenge now that Aberdeen has signed Palestinian star Oday Dabbagh.

Abu Jazar remarked: “Every Palestinian knows about the support from Celtic fans. All Palestinians stand with Celtic.

“We also support them, just as we support Oday (Dabbagh) at Aberdeen. Personally, it’s inspiring to see people in Europe who truly believe in freedom and liberation.

“We take great pride in having our player, Oday, playing in a country like that, within such a society. It means a great deal to me and to every Palestinian.”
