Regis le Bris, the manager of Sunderland, was dissatisfied with his team’s performance during their Championship 0-0 tie with Preston.

The visitors’ winning streak reached seven games with a second straight goalless draw, giving them a two-point lead at the top of the table. However, their performance in Deepdale fell short of Le Bris’ expectations.

The manager of Sunderland stated, “We are not happy because this was not the performance that we wanted to execute today, but, in the end, it is a point.”

Le Bris attributed this to keeping his options fresh, even though Patrick Roberts and Romaine Mundle were unexpectedly on the bench despite both appearing in the second half.

He went on to say, “It’s a long league with many games in the week.” We must oversee the squad and team and provide other players with opportunities since we will undoubtedly need them.

Since we require the others to be in their optimum physical condition and they can grow tired, we also need to control them. Although we are aware that Roberts is a significant strength that we definitely miss, it was anticipated that he would take up the final 30 minutes, and I believe that we altered the game’s dynamics at that precise point.

Forward Wilson Isidor began in a wide position due to Sunderland’s alterations. Although Le Bris admitted that his performance may have been improved, he thinks the move will have helped his career.

Le Bris remarked, “He’s a young player and needs the opportunity to learn.” “It’s good for him because he can’t imagine the difficulties before playing.”

He was a team member. He obviously didn’t give us the finest performance we could have hoped for, but that’s natural since he needs time.

Paul Heckingbottom, the manager of Preston, was annoyed by the officiating and his team’s lack of effectiveness in front of goal. Referee Lewis Smith gave Chris Mepham a yellow card early on for a cynical foul against Sam Greenwood on the edge of the box, instead of a red card.

Heckingbottom remarked, “We’ve been doing really well, but right now things are not working out for us.” “Obviously, the referee’s decisions could have made the game a little bit more pleasant for us, but we had three really fantastic chances in the first half that could have made it extremely comfortable.

We could have done enough ourselves in this game and in prior games to earn a lot more points, but it is more difficult because we aren’t getting the assistance of the referees and have had five surprising decisions in the last eight games.

“We have a distinct character and style, and people are trying to overcome us by changing, becoming extremely disciplined, and observing how we execute.

“I take that as a compliment, but it also means that we will never play a team that isn’t ready.”
