Despite the possible £2 million compensation cost, Dan Bardell thinks Rangers might fire Philippe Clement.
Even though the Belgian made it to the League Cup final on Sunday, November 3, he has faced criticism at Ibrox in recent weeks, with many fans calling for his dismissal.
Given that the manager may collect £2 million if he is let go, the Gers’ management might be reluctant to make the move [David Edgar].
Bardell, a writer for Sky Sports and talkSPORT, thinks money won’t be an issue if the Light Blues board decides to fire Clement soon.
“They probably can’t afford to sack him, but there will also come a point where fans become frustrated and they can’t really afford to keep him either,” Bardell stated in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News.
“Clubs always appear to be able to make that shift regardless of financial difficulties, so money issues go out the window when management changes for whatever reason.
“There has to be a change at Rangers; it doesn’t feel like a happy place at the moment.”
