According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Rangers have confirmed the departure of one prominent director and the appointment of a new secretary.

Creag Robertson’s position as director of football operations at Ibrox has been formally terminated, according to Companies House applications made on Friday, November 8.

James Taylor will continue to serve as chief financial officer for the Scottish powerhouses despite losing his job as secretary.

After the behind-the-scenes restructuring, Graham Horsman, who joined Rangers in January as a football legal counsel, will assume the position of secretary.

Robertson’s departure is the most recent in a series of high-profile departures that have occurred in recent months.

After John Bennett resigned as chairman in September due to health concerns, former Rangers director John Gilligan is temporarily taking over as chairman. The club is now without a CEO after James Bisgrove left earlier this year.

After their recent boardroom exits, Stefan Borson, a finance expert, told Football Insider that the Glasgow team had a “enormous” problem to solve.

Rangers are having financial difficulties as another departure is revealed.

Rangers’ financial status is currently under intense scrutiny following the publishing of its most recent 2023–24 financial statements on October 29.

The club’s total revenue was £94.2 million, with its core revenue rising from £83.8 million in 2022–2023 to a record-breaking £88.3 million.

However, last season’s total losses increased by £4.1 million to £17.2 million, highlighting the current financial difficulties Ibrox executives are facing.

Because Rangers depend on their owners contributing money to keep things running smoothly, Borson told Football Insider that those losses put the team in a “vulnerable” situation.

Although Philippe Clement’s team has accumulated seven points out of a possible twelve in their Europa League campaign, its performance in the Scottish Premiership has fallen far short of expectations.

Rangers are presently nine points behind Aberdeen and Celtic in third place in the standings.
