As the heat mounts at Ibrox, Rangers manager Philippe Clement is being predicted to return to Belgium.

In his first year at Rangers, the former manager of Genk, Club Brugge, and AS Monaco has experienced mixed results in his first year leading the struggling Ibrox team.

Although Philippe Clement has produced a League Cup title, the Belgian manager has failed five times to win an Old Firm game, and it is unclear if he is the right person to bring the kind of steady success that disgruntled fans so much want.

However, once Clement committed to the Rangers position, it seems the Pro League team has moved on. In September, they were linked to the unfilled position at Anderlecht.

Anderlecht and the incoming manager are “in talks.”

After the five-time European trophy winners, Anderlecht, fired Brian Riemer, media in Belgium had speculated that Philippe Clement would take control.

In particular, former Anderlecht player Nordin Jbari has brought up Clement as a possible choice in addition to Mark van Bommel.

Jbari stated, “The future coach needs to be charismatic and play well.” “Philippe Clement is a good example, even if he is taken.”

He is contemporary and enjoys playing upfront. Even though he has visited Brugge, he would still be interested.

However, neither the renowned former Dutch midfielder Van Bommel nor the current Rangers manager appear likely to assume the helm at the most successful team in Belgian sport.

That’s because Ryan Mason, an assistant at Tottenham Hotspur, is reportedly in “talks” to take over as manager of Anderlecht in the Pro League, according to the Athletic.

The 33-year-old, who had to quit from playing early in 2018 owing to an injury, is a bright young coach who has been employed by Spurs.

Mason might be set to take on his first major position in football after serving as Tottenham’s temporary manager twice after Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte left the team.

Philippe Clement pledged allegiance to Rangers

Rangers supporters won’t be shocked that Anderlecht chose to relocate due of connections to Philippe Clement.

Not least because the manager from Belgium categorically rejected any notion that he may leave Ibrox.

When questioned last month about his connections to Anderlecht, the 50-year-old Rangers manager made it apparent that not even Real Madrid could convince him to leave Ibrox.

Clement was awarded a one-year contract extension on the eve of the new season in a public demonstration of solidarity after a turbulent summer and ongoing rebuild.

“It’s very evident that I committed to the Rangers for the long haul last month,” Clement stated.

“Whatever team or person shows up, I won’t be leaving.

Quite evident. I want the club’s project to be extremely successful going forward.

Everyone is aware that this requires time, a few transfer periods, and a great deal of work.

I am clearly here to stay because I adore the city, the club, and the atmosphere with the supporters at Ibrox. That is what I want to accomplish.
