A “sensational” forward is moving closer to a summer transfer to Ibrox, with Rangers gaining an advantage in the race for his signature, according to reports.

Gers Preparing for a Summer Overhaul

Ibrox is set for significant changes this summer, as interim manager Barry Ferguson is expected to make way for a permanent successor. Despite some positive performances under the 47-year-old, including a memorable 3-2 victory away to rivals Celtic, a new managerial appointment is anticipated.

Among the latest names linked to the Rangers job is Marco Rose, who was recently dismissed by RB Leipzig. Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior has also emerged as a possible candidate for the role.

In addition to changes in the dugout, several players are expected to depart, with striker Cyriel Dessers almost certain to leave. Fellow forward Hamza Igamane and midfielder Nicolas Raskin could also be on their way out.

Further shake-ups are expected in the club’s hierarchy, as the 49ers push to finalize a takeover, which Football Insider reports could be completed by June.

The report also suggests the takeover could strengthen Rangers’ bid to sign Vaclav Cerny on a permanent deal, following an impressive loan spell from Wolfsburg. The Gers have the option to secure the Czech forward for £5.5 million, but must act before the end of May, as interest from other European clubs grows.

However, with an anticipated £25 million transfer budget due to the takeover, Rangers should have ample funds to finalize the deal.

Cerny Becoming a Rangers Fan Favorite

While Rangers have endured a challenging season, with only an outside shot at Europa League glory, Cerny has been a standout performer. The 27-year-old has netted 11 goals in the Scottish Premiership and delivered a standout display against Fenerbahce last month, earning praise as “brilliant.”

Additionally, his on-field presence and antics at Parkhead have cemented his status as a “cult hero,” as described by journalist Matthew Lindsay.

Despite the club’s struggles in the league, Cerny’s debut campaign at Ibrox has been a success, and the prospect of securing him permanently offers Rangers some much-needed stability amid a summer of transition.
