Everton’s Unbeaten Streak Ends as Gary Neville Criticizes Jack Harrison

Everton’s impressive nine-game unbeaten run came to a disappointing end at Anfield on Wednesday night, with David Moyes’ side falling to Liverpool. In the aftermath, Gary Neville singled out Jack Harrison for criticism.

Since Moyes’ return, Everton have looked revitalized, losing just four of his 13 matches in charge—an improvement from the struggles under Sean Dyche. With Premier League survival secured, the focus is shifting to individual performances, and Harrison has been under the spotlight.

Neville Slams Harrison for Costly Moment in Defeat

Harrison has endured a tough campaign, often drawing criticism from Everton fans. He only registered his first goal contribution of the season in March—a deflected effort against Wolves. Despite this, Moyes has continued to back the Leeds loanee, starting him in seven consecutive league matches, including the Merseyside derby.

However, Harrison struggled against Liverpool and was substituted in the 69th minute. During Sky Sports’ commentary, Neville criticized the winger for a wasted opportunity that left Moyes visibly frustrated on the touchline.

“His quality’s been poor, Harrison. Maybe he didn’t get an obvious option, but still should have done better than that,” Neville remarked as Diogo Jota netted the winner.

Harrison’s Performance Ranked Worst on the Pitch

It was a forgettable night for Harrison, whose place in the starting XI now looks uncertain. According to FotMob, he was the lowest-rated player on the pitch, receiving a 5.8 rating—worse than any of the 22 starters.

Adding to his struggles, Harrison completed just four passes and lost all seven of his duels. If there was any doubt about whether Everton should pursue a permanent deal for him, this performance made it clear why they likely won’t.
