After acquiring a house close to Ibrox, Dan Bardell thinks Sir Alex Ferguson would join Rangers as an advisor.
In order to spend more time with his brother Martin and be nearer to the Gers, who are his ‘other team’, the former Manchester United manager has purchased an apartment in Glasgow’s west end [Alan Nixon].
As he attempts to rebuild the Light Blues’ boardroom following the departure of James Bisgrove and John Bennett, this might be good news for players like John Gilligan. Bardell, a journalist for Sky Sports and talkSPORT, could envision the 82-year-old, who was controversially moved from Old Trafford, taking up a position at Ibrox.
“I can see that happening,” Bardell remarked in an exclusive interview with Ibrox News.
“After everything that transpired with his club ambassador role, there is a chance that he will be less involved with Manchester United.”
There’s a reason he purchased the flat. “Rangers need some motivation, and the board will undoubtedly give certain senior roles new direction.
“So, you could envision a world in which Sir Alex Ferguson is involved in an advisory role.” Sir Alex Ferguson supported his appointment as a Rangers advisor.
The Gers have had a challenging time both on and off the field, with problems in the boardroom affecting the game at Ibrox.
Although Philippe Clement has faced criticism for his team’s performances, the Belgian has perhaps been let down at times due to the unpredictability of the scenario at Ibrox.
It could be advantageous for everyone if Ferguson serves as an advisor to any incoming board members, as Gilligan is eager to resolve these issues in the upcoming weeks. The Light Blues may benefit greatly from the legendary manager’s wealth of knowledge during a challenging time for the team.
