In response to recent speculations that he would wish to depart, Kenneth Vargas has stated that he is committed to Heart of Midlothian.
Just a few months after agreeing to a five-year contract, the Costa Rican forward hinted that his time at Tynecastle would be coming to an end when he was cited in the local media yesterday saying he’d prefer to play in a better league.
While playing “against better-level players,” the 22-year-old was cited as saying he would “like to go somewhere else where I can have a better place and compete more.”
He has now tried to explain himself to the Hearts supporters by responding to the reports in his native country. “To the fans, teammates, and the entire Hearts family,” he wrote in a statement that he shared on Instagram.
“I would like to take a moment to address some recent media reports that have taken my statements out of context and misconstrued them. ”
I want to correct the record: I aspire to play in one of the top five leagues in the world, just like every other professional football player. But realising that desire is a process that takes a great deal of time, commitment, and unrelenting work.
“I understand that I still have a lot to learn, both on and off the pitch, and that I am still a young player. I’m dedicated to developing into the greatest version of the athlete I want to be every single day. “I am immensely lucky and appreciative of Hearts’ and our ardent supporters’ support. For me, this club is my home, not simply a squad.
“I’m committed to giving this club my all in return for their confidence and the chance they’ve given me. I am inspired to work harder and contribute to our team’s success by the encouragement I receive from my teammates, the coaching staff, and the community. ”
I want to underline how grateful I am to be in this position right now, and I’m still committed to living each day to the fullest and earning back the trust that has been put in me. I appreciate your unwavering support, everyone.
“With deep respect and appreciation, Kenneth Vargas.” “Yes, it’s no secret, Hearts is a great place, and it’s a great team,” Vargas stated, as cited in the newspaper, “but one always looks for better options, the ability to show oneself and compete.” “I want to move somewhere else where I can compete more and have a better environment. I want to play against more experienced players and create more friction, but I don’t want my statements to be misunderstood.
“There is a clause that states that I have the last word if a team shows up and pays, but these things are beyond of my control, so there is a chance that I may depart in January. ”
The clause is present. Negotiation is not a problem for me. Even though I still have until 2029 left, I might decide to depart based on what I’ve been informed about teams’ interest. Vargas is expected to talk with the club upon his return from international duty.
