Leicester City have suffered relegation to the Championship and are expected to lose several key players during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Foxes dropped back down to the second tier last month following a defeat to Liverpool, just one season after earning promotion by winning the Championship in 2023/24.

Relegation is likely to trigger a squad overhaul, with Jamie Vardy already confirmed to be leaving once his contract ends. Additionally, Wilfred Ndidi may depart at a reduced fee due to a clause in his contract tied to relegation.

In a fresh development, interest is mounting around midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

Arsenal table bid for El Khannouss

El Khannouss, who joined Leicester in the summer of 2024, emerged as a standout performer during the campaign, drawing the attention of top clubs.

Champions League semi-finalists Arsenal have reportedly made a move for the Moroccan international. According to Moroccan outlet Soccer 212, Mikel Arteta’s side have initiated negotiations and submitted a €30 million bid for the 20-year-old.

The report, posted on X/Twitter, read: “Bilel El Khannouss in Arsenal’s sights! The Gunners have started talks with Leicester and offered 30M€ for the Moroccan midfielder, who has had a great season. Arteta confirms, El Khannouss is in. To be continued…”

El Khannouss’ impact at Leicester

Since arriving last summer, El Khannouss has mainly operated as a number 10 but has also featured in deeper midfield roles and on the flanks. He made 29 Premier League appearances, scoring twice and registering two assists. He also contributed two assists in the FA Cup and scored once in the Carabao Cup.

El Khannouss remains under contract with Leicester City until June 2028.
